If you get your electricity from Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (ONCOR) and are considering solar panels for your home or business, then we’ve got all your information right here.

Solar Panels in Oncor – Understanding The Oncor Electric Solar Rebate:

Residential Rebate Qualifications:

  • System must be new. Sites with existing solar arrays are not eligible to participate in the program
  • Solar array azimuth should be 90 to 270 degrees (the way it’s oriented on a compass.  90=due East.  270=due West)
  • Tilt angle should be between 0 (flat) and latitude + 15 degrees (that’s 45 to 48 degrees tilt, depending on how far north you are in Texas)
  • The customer must sign an Interconnection Agreement with Oncor
  • Minimum system size is 1 kW DC
  • Maximum system size is 15 kW DC

Residential customers also qualify for the 30% Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC), as well as a property tax exemption for solar panels in Texas.

The Oncor Solar Rebate for residential solar panel systems is dependent on the system size, azimuth and other factors of your installed system. Our Account Managers and Design Team will help calculate the exact rebate for the system. You can contact your retail electric provider (REP) for information about any credit you could qualify for based on any excess generation that your system may produce.
